Technical Surfaces would like to offer their congratulations to team Peaked Too Soon for successfully completing the Three Peaks Challenge on 11th-12th July, and in the process, raising over £2,000 in funds for the charity Action Medical Research. Among the group of intrepid climbers scaling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon were Glen Roberts of Parkview Leisure Centre in Birmingham, and John Carrigan of Saltley Leisure Centre, also in Birmingham, whose FIFA 2* accredited 3rd Generation pitch has been in the excellent care of the UK’s leading synthetic maintenance specialists since it was installed in 2006. John and Glenn were joined by fellow hikers Bilal Sheikh, Ed Wicks, Lorna Deere-Pace and driver Mike Barrett.   The Challenge undertaken by Glen, John and the team was both physically and mentally demanding, requiring them to hike in excess of 11,000 ft across the three mountains. They completed this mammoth task in an impressive 24 hours 40 minutes, and the money raised will help Action Medical Research continue their important work in improving the health of babies and children in the UK.   Team Peaked Too Soon proudly donned their very own ‘Technical Surfaces’ t-shirts when they reached the summit of Ben Nevis (pictured), and were more than happy to offer the company a little alpine exposure in return for Technical Surfaces’ ensuring that the synthetic pitches at both Parkview and Saltley Leisure Centre remain in ‘peak’ condition.     For more information on Technical Surfaces or if you would like a site visit, call 08702 400 700 or visit www. technicalsurfaces. co. uk
